The Making Of A Professional Head Shot
Unless you work in the great outdoors do your headshots inside. You’ll avoid the whims of Mother Nature and the lighting and background can be controlled. Often I’m asked to shoot everyone in the company and that’s great because I can create a consistent style to suite the brand image they want.
Just because someone “already has an image” posted doesn’t mean they’re exempt. If it looks like a selfie and the background is all wrong they need a new headshot. Bad headshots and inconsistency makes the company look cheap and nobody wants that.
If your employees are all over the country, use a clean background and lighting set up to produce similar headshots in all locations. When the time comes to add new members to the web page, they’ll all look consistent. I usually use a white backdrop or light coloured wall so that my clients can replicate the look anywhere.
